History

In 2009, Azmi Danuri left another lightsaber performance group in Singapore after some disagreements over how it was being run. Straight after, he had the idea of starting a new lightsaber performance group with the goal of being recognized by Lucasfilm and having multiple chapters.

In 2010, Azmi started FightSaber. His travels had also brought him to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he was judging a lightsaber wielding competition.
After the competition, Azmi had approached the winner of the competition, Herbert Donald, and asked him if he would like to take charge of the Malaysian chapter of FightSaber.

In 2014, FightSaber was granted recognition by Lucasfilm and was now invited to official Star Wars events around the region. FightSaber is the first lightsaber performance group to achieve that in Asia.

Currently, FightSaber has chapters in 5 countries and is working on adding more chapters under it’s wing.
